Cockle Bay Residence

Welcome to the innovative redesign of the Cockle Bay Residence kitchen, a project born from the collaboration between our esteemed clients. Tasked with revitalizing this beloved space, our objective was clear: to honor the unique curvature and angles while enhancing functionality and aesthetics.

Incorporating the distinctive features of the existing space, our design celebrates the curved walls with custom curved cabinetry front, rather than concealing them behind conventional cabinetry. By strategically placing tall storage units along the right-hand wall, we optimized storage while preserving the integrity of the corner curvature, which now hosts a charming breakfast and coffee nook.

Maintaining a delicate balance between storage and openness, we avoided overwhelming the space with excessive cabinetry. Curved overhead units, adorned with milled veneer, echo the organic flow of the walls, infusing the kitchen with visual intrigue and texture. The seamless transition is further enhanced by a carefully chosen stone splashback that harmonizes with the tiled remainder of the wall, a solution dictated by the architectural constraints of the space.

Moving to the seating area, a pivotal aspect of the redesign, we prioritized continuity and flow. By aligning the seating at the same bench height as the rest of the kitchen, as opposed to the elevated level of the existing setup, we created a more cohesive and spacious environment. Mimicking the design language of the overhead cabinetry, we integrated the same milled veneer, ensuring a sense of cohesion and unity throughout the space.

Drawing inspiration from a serene palette of blues and whites, we introduced elements of milled veneer and finger tiles to introduce texture and linear lines, enriching the overall aesthetic while maintaining harmony with the chosen color scheme.
